Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives as a dedicated teacher for the visually impaired, supporting young learners onsite in an engaging, inclusive educational environment near Renton, WA. The upcoming 2026-2027 school year presents an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to provide essential vision support services. This part-time contract role is designed for those who thrive in individualized, impactful educational settings, working a manageable 15 hours per week. You'll work directly with a caseload of eight students who require a diverse range of service minutes weekly, monthly, and quarterly. The responsibility is meaningful—guiding students through tailored interventions, fostering greater independence, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Washington TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) certification Must undergo fingerprinting through OSPI prior to school entry Prior experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments preferred Strong communication skills for student, family, and team partnership Commitment to onsite service delivery—remote options are not available for this assignmentCore Responsibilities:
