Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behavior Support Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs by implementing behavior plans, preventing crises, and maintaining a safe, stable environment. In this role, you will implement behavioral therapy strategies, assist with developing personalized care plans to promote positive behaviors and independence. Your energetic approach and commitment to resident-centered care will help foster a supportive environment where residents can thrive and achieve their goals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, applying applied behavior analysis techniques and behavioral health principles to improve quality of life. Responsibilities Implement behavioral therapy interventions based on individualized treatment plans, utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques to support clients with autism and other developmental disabilities, support residents with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform ongoing treatment strategies Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure consistency in care and effective communication about progress and challenges Maintain accurate medical documentation and behavioral health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Participate in training sessions on medical terminology, medical records management, and confidentiality protocols to ensure best practices in patient careQualifications Experience or training in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or special education is highly preferred Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation procedures, and HIPAA compliance standards Excellent teaching skills with a patient-centered approach to support behavioral health goals Ability to collect detailed data accurately and utilize it for behavior management strategies Compassionate attitude with a commitment to patient care and positive outcomes Prior experience assisting with ADLs or working within a healthcare or educational setting is advantageous. $24.01 - $28.92 per hour
