Job Description

Category Schools - Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Job Type Contract A school district in Bayfield, WI is seeking a skilled Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time (20 hours per week) contract position offers the opportunity to support students with hearing impairments through a fully virtual format. Applicants must have experience working within Wisconsin and possess knowledge of the state's special education processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) specifically tailored for virtual learning environments Provide both direct instruction and consultative services aligned with student IEPs Collect and document data on student progress toward IEP goals to ensure measurable outcomes Participate in virtual IEP meetings while maintaining compliance with IDEA requirements
Desired Qualifications:
Certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing specialist or teacher Proven experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within Wisconsin schools Strong understanding of Wisconsin's special education laws, procedures, and IDEA compliance Ability to effectively deliver instruction and support in a virtual setting Excellent communication and organizational skills for collaboration with educators, families, and administrators
Location & Schedule:
Position is fully virtual Approximately 20 hours per week Based in Bayfield, Wisconsin service area This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational success of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by adapting specialized learning plans for remote instruction.
