Job Description
Job Summary The Lead Teacher will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of children in the daycare setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment. This role involves implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, collaborating with a team of other teachers and assistant teachers, and working closely with parents to support the developmental needs of children. The Lead Teacher will play an essential role in shaping a positive and stimulating atmosphere for children. Duties Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development. Foster an environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and a love for learning. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care by adhering to safety policies and maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment. Respond appropriately to children's physical and emotional needs and be vigilant about identifying potential concerns or risks. Stay current with early childhood education trends and best practices through ongoing professional development. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and relevant educational workshops. Foster an environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and a love for learning. Lead a classroom and ensure a safe, organized, and engaging environment. Ensure that all classroom materials and resources are well-maintained and that the space is conducive to learning. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and other classroom staff, providing guidance on child development and classroom management techniques. Offer positive discipline strategies and support the behavioral and emotional development of each child. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years of age. Preferred Lead Teacher Qualified through the Wisconsin Registry, but will consider an applicant willing to complete the following courses: Introduction to Childcare, Skills and Strategies for Childcare Teachers and Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler Care. Experience working in a childcare or educational setting is preferred. Strong classroom management skills to create an engaging learning atmosphere. A passion for fostering a love of learning in young children through creative teaching strategies. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents and coworkers.
