Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as an educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services in a school-based contract role. Work closely with a dedicated team of professionals to facilitate an accessible and empowering classroom environment. Your knowledge and passion will help students thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state credential or eligibility preferred) Previous experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication modes Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to create Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to each student's unique needs Comfortable adapting curriculum, materials, and teaching strategies to varied learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Develop instructional plans based on each student's strengths and areas of need Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate inclusive classroom experiences Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings Foster a supportive, communicative classroom environment promoting self-advocacy and independence Engage families with regular updates on student progress and strategies for home support This contract role offers a valuable opportunity to contribute your expertise and help students reach their potential.
