Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher for grades K-5. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated support to elementary students, guiding their growth in an inclusive, nurturing environment. You'll work alongside a passionate educational team to create individualized plans tailored to each student's unique needs and help foster their academic, social, and emotional development.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; advanced degrees welcomed Experience working with K-5 students in a special education setting Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication and collaboration skills Genuine commitment to equitable and inclusive education
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students Adapt lessons and materials to address the specific learning needs of each child Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and staff to ensure supportive learning environments Maintain clear communication with families about student progress and strategies Apply evidence-based interventions and assessments Document student progress, behavior, and required reports with accuracy and timeliness Foster a positive, encouraging classroom culture that supports self-esteem and independence
