Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Hold a valid state teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility to obtain one. Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in school settings is preferred. Strong understanding of various communication modes and auditory/oral methodologies. Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to meeting each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, individually and in group settings. Develop and deliver lesson plans that accommodate varied learning styles and communication needs. Evaluate student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings. Support classroom teachers, staff, and families by providing strategies and resources to promote student success. Advocate for students and educate the school community about hearing differences.
