Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students with hearing differences in an educational environment where growth and inclusion are top priorities. This contract-based opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about helping students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing succeed academically and socially.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education Experience or training in auditory/oral, sign language, or total communication approaches Proven ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and specialists Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Flexibility, adaptability, and a deep sense of advocacy for students' needs Excellent communication skills, both in spoken and visual modalities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, tailored to individual strengths and needs Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure access to the general curriculum Develop, monitor, and update IEPs, progress reports, and necessary documentation Offer support and educational resources to families and staff, fostering a welcoming school community Advocate for student access, participation, and communication in all aspects of the school environment Utilize assistive technology, visual supports, and other resources to enhance learning opportunities This is a rewarding chance to join a supportive educational setting with opportunities to grow professional skills and make a difference every day.
