We're seeking a passionate educator who loves working in a middle school environment, fostering growth and learning among students. Be part of our supportive community, collaborating with both house teachers and our special education teams to create an enriching educational experience for all. The focus of this position will be Intellectual Disabilities - Essential Elements, Functional Skills and Daily Living Skills.
Job Goal:
To provide a multi level system of interventions and supports for students who have a wide range of learning, emotional, behavioral, physical and cognitive disabilities. Will teach in a collaborative effort of various subjects, such as reading, writing, math and social skills instruction in an inclusive setting. Candidates with experience in reading intervention strategies and a proven ability to support students with diverse literacy needs are preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction special education certification, number 1810, 1811, 1801 or 1830 in the middle school setting. Ability to collaborate with parents, teachers, and community members in order to help students meet individual goals. Passion for teaching students with various disability related needs. (physical, ability, communication and/or behavioral) Teaching assignments will be based on the individual needs of the students. Must be willing to team teach and/or act as a resource to regular education teachers. Training and/or experience in teaching social communication and appropriate expected behaviors. Must have a desire to work in a collaborative, team approach supporting students. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong planning skills. Experience with developing, writing, and implementing IEPs to fidelity. A desire to promote family involvement in school and community. Highly developed interpersonal skills. Excellent classroom management skills.
