Job Description
Career Systems Development Corporation seeks an on-call Substitute Academic Instructor to provide classroom instruction to Job Corps students when primary teachers are absent. In this role, you will deliver prepared lesson plans, support core academic learning, and help students build the skills needed for career and life success. You will uphold a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom, maintain attendance and behavior standards, and collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of instruction while advancing CSD's mission-driven, student-centered culture. Responsibilities Provide substitute classroom instruction for academic subjects to Job Corps students Deliver prepared lesson plans and adapt materials to meet diverse learning needs Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment Monitor student attendance, participation, and behavior, following center policies Support students' academic, career readiness, and life skills development Collaborate with instructors, counselors, and staff to ensure instructional continuity Maintain accurate records of coursework, attendance, and student progress Use basic educational technology and learning platforms in instruction Reinforce CSD's mission, standards, and student-centered culture Required Skills Classroom instruction Lesson delivery and adaptation Classroom management Student assessment and progress tracking Educational technology tools Youth counseling and mentoring skills Differentiated instruction Verbal and written communication Time management and organization Cultural competence and DEI awareness
