Bilingual Substitute Teacher 2026 - 2027 San José Unified School District - 3.6 San Jose, CA Job Details Part-time $200 - $350 a day 11 hours ago Qualifications Spanish Full Job Description The impact you will have: As a Bilingual Substitute Teacher, you will provide continuity of learning and support for students while their regular teacher is away. Your ability to communicate and connect with students in multiple languages will help create an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment where multilingual learners feel supported and engaged. Through effective instruction, relationship-building, and cultural responsiveness, you will help students remain connected to their learning and continue making academic progress while maintaining a positive and productive classroom experience.

You are a flexible and culturally responsive educator who is passionate about supporting students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. You create welcoming and inclusive learning environments, communicate effectively in multiple languages, and build positive relationships with students and staff. You are adaptable, dependable, and committed to ensuring students remain engaged, supported, and successful in their learning, even when their regular teacher is absent.
What you bring:
Resume Valid Substitute Teaching Permit or California Teaching Credential TB Clearance that has been completed within past 60 days (screenings beyond 60 days will be accepted with additional documentation verifying that you have been continuously working in a public school setting since the date of your latest TB screening) Bilingual Spanish required AB-2534 Employment History As of January 1, 2025, in accordance with Education Code section 44939.5 (as amended by California AB2534) applicants for certificated positions are required by law to provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school and/or state special school with which you have previously been employed, regardless of the length of service. For all certificated positions, please be comprehensive in disclosing any part-time, full-time and substitute employment. Failure to disclose any previous educational employment may result in the disqualification of your application. You must list all previous LEAs (Local Education Agencies) where you have been employed. If multiple LEAs are within the same district, only the district information is required. An LEA is a local entity involved in education including but not limited to school districts, county offices of education, direct-funded charter schools, and special education local plan area (SELPA).
