Classified Substitute replaces a classified employee in the event of their absence (can replace most school support staff except teachers and other staff who require a CDE License). Substitute jobs may be in-person or virtual. Listed are common positions a classified sub may work: paraprofessional, classroom aide, secretary, school health office assistant, and librarian. Here is a list of classified jobs a classified substitute may work Requirements High School Diploma or GED The 2026-27
School Year Classified Substitute Pay:
Hourly- minimum hourly wage based on specific assignment (see 2026-27 Classified Staff Salary schedule B for more information on the TSD Substitute Portal). This position does NOT receive benefits. Classified substitutes can select when and where they would like to work (flexible schedule). •After you submit your application, you will be contacted via email to select an interview time.
