AVON PUBLIC SCHOOLS

For External Applicants applying for a position. Position Title:
Spanish Teacher Long-Term Substitute Qualifications:

Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification (023)

Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Spanish

Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee

Compensation:

In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Period of Assignment:

Starting on December 4, 2026 and ending on December 23, 2026

Responsibilities:

The Spanish Long Term Sub Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:

Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's world language curriculum

Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students' academic development. Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)

Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts. Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
