District Substitute Teacher Ledyard, CT 06339 $130 a day - Temporary $130 a day - Temporary Ledyard Public Schools is seeking Substitute Teachers in all subject areas for the 2026-2027 school year. As a substitute teacher you serve a vitally important function in the education of our students. Substitute teachers are responsible for following lesson plans, supervising students, maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning and respectful of the needs of students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required •(see below) Connecticut teaching certificate preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent required Must be age 18 or older Enthusiasm for teaching and learning •For educators who do not have a bachelor's degree, a district can apply for a waiver using the following steps: The district may submit an detailing the applicant's experience with school-age children.
Pay:
The daily rate for substitute teachers is $130.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to follow directions and deliver lesson plans within a wide variety of settings Strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated work ethic Maintain confidentiality at all times Enjoy working with students Ability to work with a diverse student population
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Must be able to traverse the classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child
