Position Summary Homeschool Classroom is seeking a dependable Florida Certified K-12 Teacher to serve as an as-needed Substitute Teacher when our Lead Teacher is unavailable. This opportunity is intended for a certified educator seeking occasional work without a regular weekly commitment. Assignments are expected to be infrequent and will be offered based on program needs and the substitute's availability. When accepting an assignment, the Substitute Teacher assumes the Lead Teacher's classroom responsibilities and follows established instructional, behavioral, safety, and documentation procedures. Qualifications Required Current Florida K-12 teaching certification Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening Strong classroom-management skills Ability to work with students across multiple grade levels Comfortable using technology and an employer-issued tablet during assignments Dependable and able to follow established classroom procedures Preferred ESE certification, endorsement, or experience Experience supporting students with IEPs, 504 Plans, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, or other diverse learning needs Familiarity with PBIS, differentiated instruction, and executive-function supports Key Responsibilities Facilitate approximately 90 minutes of academic learning and 90 minutes of enrichment activities during accepted assignments. Use Homeschool Classroom's Helicopter Method to circulate among students, monitor progress, check for understanding, provide targeted assistance, and promote independent learning. Implement PBIS and established classroom-management procedures. Support students with organization, task initiation, time management, self-regulation, and positive learning behaviors. Use the provided tablet to complete student check-in/check-out procedures, including scanning parent/guardian QR codes and verifying authorized adults' identification when necessary. Photograph and document student work and progress for electronic daily session notes. Complete required daily documentation and the end-of-day checklist. Follow all student safety, confidentiality, and authorized-release procedures. Ideal Candidate This position may be an excellent fit for a retired teacher, former classroom teacher, educator with another flexible position, or certified teacher seeking occasional additional work. Because substitute coverage is intended primarily for Lead Teacher absences, hours are not guaranteed and assignments may be infrequent. Candidates should be comfortable being contacted as needs arise and deciding whether they are available to accept an assignment. Hours As needed; no regularly scheduled or guaranteed hours. When needed Monday-Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm Must successfully complete a Level II background and drug screen investigation
