Spanish Long-Term Substitute - Xavier High School TeachIowa Cedar Rapids, IA Job Details 12 hours ago Qualifications Foreign language proficiency Full Job Description Position Summary Xavier Catholic Schools is seeking a qualified and dependable Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher for Xavier High School. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, maintain a positive classroom environment, and ensure continuity of learning during the teacher's leave of absence. This substitute assignment will begin in August of 2026 and go through November of 2026. Responsibilities Deliver daily Spanish instruction to high school students in accordance with lesson plans and curriculum expectations Create a supportive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment Manage classroom behavior and maintain appropriate discipline standards Assess student progress and provide feedback as needed Communicate professionally with students, staff, and families Collaborate with administration and department staff to support student success Maintain accurate attendance and grading records during the assignment Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred Valid teaching license/certification preferred Spanish language proficiency required Practicing Catholic Preferred Enthusiastic supporter of Catholic Education Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt and maintain instructional continuities.
