Job Summary:
Scott County Catholic Schools is a regionalized school system, consisting of one high school and four elementary schools. We are located in Davenport, IA. Our schools pursue a culture of excellence, educating students holistically to fully develop their God-given potential and prepare them for leadership and service. Join our team as a Long-term Substitute Teacher and contribute to the educational development of students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity in learning and providing a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Duties:
  • Implement lesson plans provided by the absent teacher effectively.
  • Provide instruction, encourage student participation, and manage classroom behavior.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions for students and continuity of instruction.
  • Support students in their academic endeavors and foster a love for learning.
  • Follow school policies and procedures to uphold educational standards.
Qualifications:
  • Experience or background in education, childhood development, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of education principles is a plus.
  • Ability to work with students of various ages and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in behavior management techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for educating young minds.
  • Substitute Teaching License required
