Build experience working in the school district -- Get a foot in the door with your potential future employer. As a Building Substitute Teacher, you will - Perform a variety of duties as that of a classroom teacher in the implementation and support of instructional programs for students in group or one-on-one settings. Be flexible on moving around the building throughout the day in order to help meet the needs of the building. Prepare instructional materials, maintain classroom discipline, and lead planned activities designated by a licensed teacher. Help develop and maintain a positive school-wide learning environment. All Building Substitute Teachers MUST meet the following qualifications: Short-Term Substitute License, Substitute Teacher License (or Professional Educators License) through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). Minimum requirement for Short-Term Substitute License (IL): 60 College Credits or Associates Degree Minimum requirement for Substitute Teacher Certification (IL): Bachelors Degree Completed physical and TB test Must pass a background check
