Immediately Job Description Ashland Middle School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Long-Term Substitute Teacher to teach Grade 7 Engineering from end of August through December 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on engineering instruction that fosters creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking. The position includes planning and implementing lessons aligned with district curriculum, assessing student learning, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success. Responsibilities Teach Grade 7 Engineering classes using established curriculum and instructional materials. Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Facilitate hands-on engineering and design challenges that encourage student inquiry and innovation. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in faculty meetings and professional responsibilities as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Massachusetts teaching license in Technology/Engineering preferred. Math or science license also acceptable. Experience teaching middle school students preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Commitment to creating an equitable and inclusive learning environment.
