A Permanent Building Substitute is assigned to a single school building for the school year & will report to that school each day to cover assignments for absent teachers, paraprofessionals or aides as scheduled by the building administrator. The Permanent Building Substitute will be responsible for providing instruction and managing the classroom in the absence of their regular educator. This position may also involve covering prep periods or staying with a class while the educator attends a meeting or training. The Permanent Building Substitute may also be responsible for other clerical duties as assigned by the building administrator.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Review the plans to be followed during the school day;Maintain the schedule and procedures of the district, school, classroom, and students to which assigned;Teach the lesson as outlined in the educators plan and consult with the principal before teaching or proceeding with any other procedure not specified by the educator;Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class, during lunch/recess periods. Maintain a safe learning environment for students.Other duties, as assigned.
