Our mission, Inspiring every student to excel in academics, service, and life, guides all we do as an educational institution. Our students come from over thirty-one communities along the South Shore; the top five districts our students come to us from are Weymouth, Brockton, Randolph, Rockland, and Abington. Our families bring a panoply of cultural and racial diversity to our community, representing many different countries of origin with over 40 different languages spoken at home. To make up the SSCPS student body, 59% of our students are people of color and 9% of our student body are English Language Learners.

The Building Substitute Teacher manages student learning in accordance with the goals of South Shore Charter Public School.
Reports to: PrincipalEssential Job Functions
- Supports the philosophy and mission of the school as well as the schools projects/FITS/workshops and goals
- Plans, prepares, organizes, and delivers student learning experiences
- Motivates, guides, and directs the students in study skills, social emotional learning, and academic learning.
- Proposes new ideas to the administration and helps to implement and evaluate existing ones
- Is motivated towards professional development and growth in the teaching profession
- Meets all the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Education regarding teacher credentials to teach in a Massachusetts Public Charter School.
Professional Classroom Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective lessons as classroom support (when one or no staff members are absent)
- Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and provides students with consistent, concrete feedback
- Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school policies
- Maintains and respects confidentiality of students and the school
- Complies with and supports school policies
- Performs other instructional and administrative duties as deemed appropriate by the Principals.
