On-Call Substitute Teacher Pioneer Valley Montessori School - 5.0 Springfield, MA Job Details Part-time $18 - $20 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Behavior management Collaboration Experience working with children Working with students Experience working with 5th graders Full Job Description Job Summary Pioneer Valley Montessori School is seeking dedicated and flexible substitute teachers to join our supportive and child-centered environment who may work with students Toddler age through 6th grade. As a substitute, you will step in for lead and assistant teachers, guiding students in line with Montessori principles and maintaining a nurturing, respectful, and engaging learning atmosphere. You will mainly be working alongside another staff member and not expected to direct a class independently. Experience working with children in an educational/group setting is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Encourage and support student curiosity, exploration, and self-discipline Implement effective classroom management techniques Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students Collaborate with staff and follow classroom guidelines Supervise students during indoor and outdoor activities Communicate professionally with staff and administration Schedule This position is on-call, as needed. Weekday availability between 7:45-4:00 is ideal, however applicants with more limited availability will be considered.
