This position is 'as needed' and will be called upon whenever coverage is required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach and supervise high-school students in the event their regular teacher is unable to lead class. Quickly interpret and execute lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learners. Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plans. Communicate effectively with the regular teacher to inform them of students' progress.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience. Commitment to working with high school students. Experience and sensitivity to working in a diverse multi-cultural environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills. Knowledge of the Catholic faith, beliefs and practices, along with an understanding of, and commitment to, the educational mission of the Archdiocese of Washington, the Salesians of Don Bosco, and the vision of the Cristo Rey Network. Compensation:
$100/half day, $200/day. ( The posted salary range is intended as a guideline. Actual compensation may be adjusted based on experience, qualifications, and organizational needs.)
