Immediately Job Description Cedar Springs Public Schools invites qualified substitutes to apply for the position of Floating Substitute Teacher. This is a position for the 2026-27 school year and possibly beyond. Floating Substitute Teachers are assigned to a building in the district, in this case Beach Elementary, and are typically assigned to a classroom when other substitutes cannot be found. F lexibility and willingness to work in a variety of buildings and grade levels is preferred.
PAY:
$160 PER

GUARANTEED DAILY WORK RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow the lesson plans of the regular classroom teacher Establish effective, positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, other support staff, and administrators Apply sound principles of learning and motivation in the planning, implementation and assessment phases of instructional delivery Utilize a variety of quality classroom management techniques to maintain a highly productive learning environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful experience as a substitute teacher Ability to meet certification requirements as a substitute through MDE Ability to communicate well at various levels with students, parents, and school personnel Evidence of a positive attitude and human relation skills Evidence of high standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity in personal and professional matters High level of flexibility

Cedar Springs Public Schools is a Preschool through 12th-grade public school consisting of over 3,000 students and nearly 400 employees. We are located within the city limits of Cedar Springs, Michigan in Kent County. Cedar Springs Public Schools is one of 20 member public school districts within the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD).
