Overview Chandler Park Academy is hiring dependable, student-centered Daily Substitute Teachers to provide short-term classroom coverage when a teacher is absent. Daily substitutes help preserve the rhythm of the school day by following prepared lessons, maintaining a safe and respectful classroom, and keeping students engaged in learning. Unlike substitute assignments arranged through an outside staffing company, this position joins CPA directly as an employee. You will become familiar with CPA's expectations, staff, students, and campus while supporting the schools where the need is greatest. Responsibilities Keep learning on track. Follow the classroom teacher's lesson plans, schedule, and directions; facilitate assigned learning activities; and collect student work as directed. Maintain a strong classroom environment. Set clear expectations, take attendance, manage behavior and transitions, and reinforce CPA policies so students remain safe, respectful, and engaged. Supervise and support students. Monitor students throughout the assigned school day, assist them with teacher-provided work, use classroom technology and resources appropriately, and request support from school staff when needed. Communicate clearly. Leave accurate notes for the teacher or administrator regarding work completed, student participation, behavior, incidents, and any follow-up needed while protecting student confidentiality. Be dependable and adaptable.

Report on time, follow assignment procedures, work the full schedule of the assigned school day, and remain flexible as grade level, subject, and building needs vary. Requirements Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate; or Hold an associate degree, or have completed at least 60 semester credit hours with grades of C or better, from one or more recognized colleges or universities.
