Job Description

Summary Of Core Responsibilities & Org Relationships:
The On-Call Substitute Teacher at Groves Academy will join us in our mission to build confidence, success, and purpose through transformative learning experiences. This position will be supported by our collaborative teaching style and our small class sizes of 8-10 students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children as a priority Plan and prepare learning activities and lessons Assist with study skills, math, reading, and writing classes Assist with student progress evaluation and report-writing Works effectively with others in planning and evaluating learning activities Performs other related duties as assigned Four-year degree in Education Classroom experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of and sensitivity to the special needs of students Able to treat each student with respect, fairness, flexibility, and in a professional manner Able to use appropriate technology, including MS Office software (Word and Excel), Internet, communication systems, online grading systems, and assistive technology Able to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when teaching new things Able to clearly and effectively communicate information and ideas in writing, verbally, and using a variety of media, so students will understand Able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words, written material, multimedia, and audiovisual sources Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization, as applicable Understand and maintain the confidential nature of student, organization and employee information, including and in accordance with HIPAA regulations
