Minimum Requirements Substitute Teacher:

Bachelor's degree or higher Must be able to pass a background check. Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Substitute Teaching License OR Tier 3 or 4 Teaching License. If you are not yet licensed but hold a Bachelor's degree in any subject, you are eligible to apply for licensure! Let us know and we can help connect you with the MDE.

Substitute Paraprofessional:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and passing ParaPro exam If you have Bachelors degree

• ParaPro exam not required Must be able to pass a background check.

Pay rates:

Teacher:

$165 Managed Paraprofessional Program (MPP): $19/hr

Substitute SPED Paraprofessional:

$18.50/hr

Substitute Unlicensed Student Support:

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported. Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, reinforcing classroom instruction while promoting social and emotional development by encouraging positive peer interactions. Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher.

Paraprofessional Responsibilities:

Collaborate with lead teachers to implement lesson plans and provide additional support to students with diverse learning needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported. Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, reinforcing classroom instruction while promoting social and emotional development by encouraging positive peer interactions. Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher aides, instructional assistants, classroom assistants or education assistants.
