Nov 12, 2026 Job Description About STMA Schools We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12. Position Overview & Responsibilities Responsible for preparing lessons, instructing students with a wide range of abilities, assessing student learning, collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction, creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment, communicating with students, parent and multiple stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, supervising students, participating in school improvement initiatives and learning professionally. November 12th, 2026-March 1, 2027 (includes one day of on-boarding with Employee Services and one-day of shadowing/training in the classroom) Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education and required teaching certificate in related area(s) of instruction as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching. Communications Arts/Literature licensure 9-12 prefered. Salary & Benefits
Wages:
Long-Term Substiute Certified Staff Rate with appropriate Certification from
PELSB:
$259.63/day. $180-$205/day with short-call substitute license only, depending on how many days the applicant worked in an STMA teaching assignment during the previous school year.
Benefits:
Available but without district contribution for fully certified teacher if contract days are less than 30; fully certified teachers with assignments longer than 30 days are entitled to District Contribution at the Full-time (1.0 FTE) benefit level. Benefits may available with short-call substitute license, depending upon assignment, please inquire if interested but holding less than a Tier 3 or Tier 4 license in the request licensure area. Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) will be provided as required by law for either license type.
