Responsibilities Deliver prepared lesson plans and adapt instructional materials to meet the needs of diverse learners Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and engaging environment Implement curriculum guidelines across subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies Support students' social-emotional development through positive behavior management strategies Communicate clearly with students to facilitate understanding and participation in lessons Collaborate with school staff and teachers to ensure continuity of instruction and classroom routines Use educational technologies and computers to enhance lesson delivery and student engagement Follow school policies, mandated reporting laws, and confidentiality requirements diligently Foster inclusive classroom environments that respect cultural diversity and individual learning styles Maintain accurate attendance records and complete necessary documentation for each assignment Must hold a current substitute certification with DESE. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation techniques Strong classroom management skills coupled with effective behavior management strategies Familiarity with special education practices, including working with students with autism or other learning differences Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and staff confidently Ability to adapt instruction based on student needs and classroom dynamics Experience using educational technologies and computers for instructional purposes Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Private school or Montessori experience is a plus but not required Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports students from diverse cultural backgrounds This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to contribute positively to student growth while developing their teaching skills.
