Job Summary St. Dominic High School seeks dedicated and reliable substitute teachers to support classroom instruction in the absence of full-time faculty. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment, ensuring continuity of instruction, and upholding the mission and values of the school community. Key Responsibilities Follow lesson plans provided by the teacher to deliver effective and engaging instruction. Maintain classroom routines, expectations, and behavior standards that support a productive learning environment. Supervise students in the classroom and during transitions, ensuring safety and adherence to school guidelines. Communicate any necessary updates, student concerns, or completed work to the appropriate teacher or administrator. Adapt to various subject areas and grade levels as needed. Support the school's commitment to academic excellence, character formation, and a faith-based learning environment. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma required; college coursework or a degree is preferred. Teaching certification or prior classroom experience is beneficial but not required. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to follow written lesson plans and instructional directions. Flexibility, dependability, and a professional demeanor. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of St. Dominic High School. General Position Details Assignments are scheduled based on school needs and substitute availability. Work hours generally align with the standard school day. Compensation is hourly or per-day, depending on school policy.
