Qualifications:
Required:
Must possess a substitute or teaching certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Individuals will be required to have one of the following to obtain a
Substitute Certificate:
- High School Diploma, or high school transcripts, or proof of GED
- Associates Degree or higher (need official transcripts for file)
- 36 college credit hours (need official transcripts for file)
- Completed Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program
Preferred:
Previous experience.

Eligible for emergency telework: With Supervisor approval
Purpose:
To enable each child to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
- Essential Job Functions:
- Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
- To "telework" when requested by the District.
- Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
- Review with the principal, department head, team leader, or building secretary all plans, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
- Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
- Teaches the lesson as planned by the classroom teacher.
- Consults as appropriate with the building principal, department head, or team leader before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified by the absent classroom teacher.
- Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in the class and during lunch and recess periods.
- Reports in writing on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Other duties assigned.
