Summary Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Substitute Drivers Ed Instructor to temporarily fill in for our after-school drives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to ensuring that students develop safe and responsible driving habits. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage students effectively in behind-the-wheel instruction. Responsibilities

• Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions, providing hands-on instruction to students in a variety of driving conditions.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their driving skills.
• Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and any concerns that may arise.
• Follow all school policies and procedures, including those related to safety and student confidentiality.
• Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans as needed, ensuring alignment with state curriculum standards.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• State certification or licensure as a Drivers Ed Instructor preferred; willingness to obtain certification may be considered.
• Previous experience teaching or working with high school students is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and maintain student engagement.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board policy.
