REPORTS TO
Principal/Assistant Principal
Salary (Daily Rate): Certified $140; Non-Certified $100
Job Goal:
To perform the duties of a Teacher to provide continuity in the classroom in a Teacher's absence
Qualifications:
At minimum, a High School Diploma or GED Completion of Effective Teacher Training course General knowledge of several subject areas
Flexibility and critical-thinking skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Essential Job Functions:
Follow district guidelines, regulations and best practices to ensure a safe, respectful, and age appropriate environment that promotes learning
Follow the established schedule, attendance procedures, and appropriate lesson plans Prepare classroom for class activities __ have materials, supplies and equipment for each lesson ready at the start of the lesson or instructional activity
Consult with staff members, including neighboring Teachers, to seek information or clarification regarding attendance procedures, lesson plans, daily schedule, materials and equipment location, and daily duties
Communicate clear expectations to students for all learning activities Maintain a high level of student time-on-task
Assist and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Where possible, use relevant technology to support instruction
Observe and provide feedback to students on their performance according to Teacher's directions Manage student behavior in the classroom by following and enforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline issues to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible
Attend to all non-teaching duties as assigned (i.e. lunch duty, recess duty, hall duty, etc.)
Follow all dismissal procedures, ensuring that all materials and equipment are in orderly condition
Communicate necessary information regarding the progress and issues of the day in a written report for the Teacher when they return
Follow policies, procedures, standards and rules in accordance with federal and state laws, which includes, but is not limited to, leading students in safety and evacuation drills Performs any other duties or tasks as assigned by the supervisor
