Job Description
Per Diem Substitute Teachers (N - 12) Garden School is an independent Nursery to Grade 12 school located in Jackson Heights, Queens, committed to providing a student-centered, engaging, and inclusive educational experience. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and flexible Substitute Teachers to join our community and support students and faculty across all grade levels. Substitute Teachers are responsible for maintaining a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities include implementing lessons and activities provided by the classroom teacher or division head, supervising students, maintaining a safe and engaging environment, and supporting students' academic, social, and emotional needs throughout the day. In the absence of a teacher, substitutes must maintain routines and expectations appropriate to the age of the students, communicate effectively with admin, exercise sound judgment and professionalism in all interactions with students, families, and colleagues, and follow school policies.
