Position Overview Liberty Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the 3rd grade. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons that foster student curiosity and critical thinking, while providing a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state educational standards for 3rd grade. Design and deliver interactive lessons that encompass various teaching methods, including group activities, hands-on projects, and technology integration. Assess student learning through regular evaluations, assignments, and class participation, providing constructive feedback to guide student improvement. Facilitate discussions that connect classroom learning to real-world situations, encouraging students to think critically and creatively. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to integrate cross-curricular learning experiences. Participate in professional development opportunities to remain current with educational best practices and innovations. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrative staff regarding student progress and classroom activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education; experience or additional training in teaching 3rd grade preferred. Demonstrated ability to design and implement engaging lesson plans. Strong understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate instructional strategies. Ability to create an inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learners. Preferred Skills Experience with differentiated instruction and a variety of assessment techniques. Familiarity with current educational trends and methodologies in elementary education. Proven ability to motivate students and engage them in extracurricular activities. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and engage with students and staff for extended periods. Additional Information The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
