Summary:
We are seeking part-time an Elementary Building Aide to provide support to students and teachers in a K-6 school setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a desire to contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position is responsible for providing assistance to elementary students in the building of assignment; specifically, in monitoring student behavior, to keep order in the cafeteria and ensure that children are safe on the playground and using the equipment properly, and to provide student and building support through the school day. The incumbent works with other members of the Department in meeting department goals and objectives in support of the Manheim Township School District's ("MTSD") mission to provide a social and educational environment for the students. Nitrauer Elementary and Schaeffer Elementary Position Type:
Part-time 10 Month (school-term) Monday-Friday 8:45 AM-3:00 PM (5.75 hours per day)
Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in managing classroom activities and behavior Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other activities as needed Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students as directed by the teacher Monitor students during arrival and dismissal Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment Communicate with parents and teachers as needed Other duties as assigned by the school principal or teacher
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff Ability to follow directions and work independently Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Benefits of position: Paid Vacation and Paid Holidays (4).
