Temporary (Timeframe - September to December 2026) Position Overview Linden Hall, the nation's oldest independent boarding and day school for girls, seeks a student-centered Full-Time Mathematics Long-Term Substitute Instructor to join our collaborative faculty team. We're looking for an engaging educator with middle school teaching experience and a genuine passion for mathematics. In this role, you'll teach students across grades 6-10 in both college prep and honors-level courses. The ideal candidate thrives in a close-knit community, values diversity, and is committed to helping students of all academic levels. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (required) PA Teaching Certificate in Mathematics 7-12 (preferred) Master's degree (preferred) Prior middle school teaching experience (required) Previous teaching experience in independent schools (preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills A collaborative and student-centered mindset Essential Duties Teach five classes, including sections of College Prep Math 6, Algebra I, and Algebra 2 (CP/Honors) Support and participate in school life activities Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Attend and support student events in the arts, athletics, and community Additional Duties Perform duties as assigned by the Head of School or other administrators Required Clearances PA Child Abuse (Act 153) PA State Police (Act 34) FBI Fingerprint (Act 114) Required Trainings Mandated Reporter (Act 126 - Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Act) Suicide Prevention (Act 71) Salary Competitive and commensurate with experience This long-term substitute position does not offer full-time benefits such as medical, dental, or retirement.
