Building-Level Substitute YouthBuild Preparatory Academy - 2.1 Providence, RI Job Details Full-time 11 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Building-Level SubstituteThe Building-Level Substitute provides consistent instructional and student support when teachers or other school staff are absent. Unlike an on-call substitute, this position reports to the school on scheduled workdays and is assigned where coverage is needed most.

The Building-Level Substitute is responsible for implementing teacher-provided lesson plans, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment, supporting school-wide routines and expectations, and ensuring continuity of instruction. When classroom coverage is not required, the substitute may support student supervision, academic intervention, small-group instruction, school activities, or other building-level needs.

The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, able to build positive relationships with students, and comfortable working across multiple subject areas and student cohorts. Candidates should demonstrate strong classroom management, sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting all students in a respectful and inclusive learning environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Previous experience working with high school students in an educational, youth development, or community-based setting is strongly preferred
