Job Description

Note this position is a long-term substitute position for 8/17/26-9/29/26. Candidates must be certified and will be paid $100/day for the first 20 days. Afterwards they will be paid at a higher rate based on degree level and number of years experience. No benefits are available for this long-term substitute placement.

Valid Tennessee teacher's license with appropriate endorsement Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills Meets health and physical requirements Ability to work cooperatively, effectively, and respectfully with staff, parents, and students from diverse backgrounds Bilingual, preferred
FLSA REPORTS TO
Principal
JOB GOALS
To support students and lead them toward the fulfillment of their potential for academic growth and to communicate with parents/guardians of ESL students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plans for appropriate instruction to support grade level standards Administers diagnostic tests and evaluates student's progress on a regular basis Maintains records of all ESL students and their status Communicates with teachers and parents to support the academic development of ESL students Assists with translation and interpretation services when needed Performs other work duties when assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job may require lifting of objects that exceed 50 lbs., or the weight of an average child, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weight up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: Pushing and/or pulling Climbing Stooping and/or kneeling Reaching Talking Hearing Seeing

To make visual comparisons and discriminations and see slight differences in shapes and shadings of figures.

Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or differences in colors and shades or other values of the same color.
