The Montessori Academy is seeking a reliable Substitute Teacher to join our team for the school year to maintain the joyful, orderly rhythms our students thrive on when primary staff are away. In this vital role, you will work closely with lead educators to uphold established Montessori routines, supervise daily indoor and outdoor activities, and foster independence and respect among our children. Duties Child Guidance & Relationships Interact with children in a calm, respectful, and supportive manner. Follow established classroom behavior guidance practices aligned with Montessori philosophy. Encourage independence, concentration, and respectful interactions. Intervene when necessary to ensure safety. Montessori Environment & Curriculum Follow lesson plans and routines established by the Lead Teacher. Support children in ongoing work without introducing new curriculum unless directed. Maintain normal classroom rhythms and transitions. Encourage respect for classroom materials and the prepared environment. Health, Safety & Supervision Supervise children at all times, indoors and outdoors. Maintain required ratios and remain aware of the full group. Follow all health, safety, and licensing procedures consistently. Ensure classroom environments remain safe, orderly, and well maintained. Flexibility & Professional Conduct Adapt to varying classroom environments and age levels as assigned. Communicate clearly with Lead Teachers and administrators regarding classroom needs. Maintain professional boundaries in all interactions with students, families, and staff. Professionalism & Community Engagement Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times. Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and preparedness. Support and represent TMA's mission, values, and Montessori philosophy. Professional Development Complete required orientation or compliance training prior to classroom assignments. Maintain any required certifications (i.e. CPR/First Aid) Apply Montessori principles appropriately during substitute assignments.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
