Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Pass criminal background check Attend orientation
Summary of Responsibilities:
Substitute for absent teacher or other staff; provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the academic subject areas assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Pay rate: $100 per day
  • no degree $110 per day
  • holds a bachelor's degree, non-teacher certified $120 per day
  • teacher certified $25 per day incentive
  • applied when substitute works 10 or more full days in a calendar month
NOTE:
The substitute teacher application must be completed and all required items provided prior to being considered for hire. If hired, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) requires all employees of Texas public schools to submit fingerprints for a criminal history record information check.
