Perfect Candidate We are looking for an educator with a calling to work with children, someone who sees education as their life's purpose, not just a job or a transitional role. We seek individuals with expertise in best practices pedagogies such as HighScope, Montessori and or Reggio Emilia, who are excited to implement JOY's holistic approach. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish, as our model is Bilingual. Job description Your primary role as a Substitute Teacher will be to support JOY classrooms by facilitating and guiding children in their learning process when a regular teacher is absent, with the understanding that each child is unique, intelligent, and creative. JOY is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment. All employees must comply with Texas Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regulations and Texas Child Care Minimum Standards. An open mind, flexibility, a positive attitude, collaboration, and a desire to learn are essential at JOY. You will support classroom routines, follow lesson plans, maintain a safe and respectful environment, and communicate positively with children, families, and team members. You may be assigned to other duties based on JOY's needs and your skills.

Salary:

$15.00-$17.00 per hour Selection Process Selected candidates will be contacted for an interview. Finalist candidates may be invited to visit Joy and participate in a brief classroom activity or observation. A background check is required for all candidates selected for the Substitute Teacher position and must be successfully completed before the start date. Substitute Teachers must be comfortable working with different age groups, following classroom routines, supporting teachers, and maintaining a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all students.
