Commensurate with experience Peninsula Catholic High School is seeking qualified and dependable Long-Term Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction and continuity during extended teacher absences. The ideal candidate will be a caring, enthusiastic educator who can create a positive and structured learning environment while supporting the academic, personal, and spiritual development of our students.
Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
Provide consistent classroom instruction for the duration of the assigned teacher's absence. Implement established curriculum and lesson plans and, when necessary, assist with planning lessons and instructional activities. Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation, responsibility, and academic success. Assess student learning, grade assignments, and maintain accurate academic records as appropriate. Provide students with timely and constructive feedback. Maintain effective classroom management while fostering respect, responsibility, and Christian values. Communicate effectively with school administration, faculty, staff, students, and families. Follow school policies, procedures, schedules, and established classroom expectations. Participate in faculty meetings, school activities, and other responsibilities as needed during the assignment. Work collaboratively with department faculty and administration to ensure continuity of instruction throughout the teacher's absence.
Qualifications Qualified candidates should:
Have a bachelor's degree; teaching experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills. Be dependable, organized, flexible, and comfortable working independently. Be able to establish positive and professional relationships with high school students, families, faculty, and staff.
