We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education and possess the necessary skills to create a positive learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist classroom teacher in performing specific duties as assigned Assist in providing individual and small-group instruction Assist in managing classroom behavior appropriate to the grade level you are assigned Read aloud to students and lead special activities such as "Circle Time" and "Show and Tell" when needed. Alert the teacher if a student requires special attention (illness or injury) Escort students/classes to various locations in the school (nurse's office, specials classes) as needed. Assist in monitoring students to make sure they are on task and completing assigned work. Assist with lunch and snack duties, including but not limited to opening packages, drinks, wiping spills as needed. Monitor playground activities to ensure students are following safety rules Assist students if an injury occurs making sure you are following OSHA guidelines Keep an accurate count of students at all times. Assist in hallway and classroom displays Assist in implementing school rules and policies. Assist in maintaining order during fire, lockdown and tornado drills Perform a variety of clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing and answering the answering the telephone as needed Assist in keeping the classroom clean, wiping tables, sweeping, vacuuming, sanitizing nap mats and wiping down bathrooms as needed. Perform related work as required and take initiative in completing classroom tasks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

General knowledge of the practices, and techniques used in a classroom setting; ability to interact effectively with students and coworkers; ability to use classroom and instructional equipment; ability to operate basic computer programs: such as attendance and lunch orders; ability to establish constructive working relationships with coworkers, parents, and students Physical requirements include the frequent sitting, walking, bending, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching.
