Job Overview Make a Difference in the Life of a Child! Scott County Public School Head Start is seeking dependable, caring, and enthusiatic individuals to join our substitute team. As a Substitute Teacher , you will have the opportunity to support young children and families while gaining valuable experience in an early childhood education setting. Substitutes provide as needed coverage for infant/toddler and preschool classroom staff when regular employees are absent. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children, is flexible and dependable, and wants to make a positive impact in their community. Responsibilities Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for Head Start children. Support daily classroom activities, routines, and learning experiences. Follow lesson plans and classroom schedules as directed by the regular teaching staff. Assist with meals, transitions, outdoor activities, and other classroom routines. Use appropriate and positive interactions with children. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom enviornment. Follow program policies & procedures, including the Standards of Conduct. Work collaboratively with teachers, classroom staff, and other program personnel. Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of children and families. Complete required training and onboarding activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Employment is contingent upon successfully completing all required employment and background-check processes. Must have at a minimum a high school diploma or GED. Substitute staff must complete required Head Start onboarding and training prior to being placed on the active substitute roster.
