Job Description
Substitute Teacher at Long Trail School
Long Trail School is seeking reliable, flexible, and caring substitute teachers to support our students and faculty when teachers are absent. Substitute teachers help maintain a positive and productive learning environment by following lesson plans, supervising students, facilitating classroom activities, and ensuring continuity of learning.
Responsibilities:
Follow lesson plans and directions provided by classroom teachers
Supervise and support students in grades 6-12
Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
Take attendance and communicate any important concerns or information to the appropriate faculty or administrator
Support students with classwork and activities as needed
Be flexible and willing to support different classes and grade levels
Qualifications:
Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Dependable, flexible, and professional
Ability to create a supportive and respectful environment for students
A bachelor's degree or teaching experience is preferred but not required
