Job Description
The Ottauquechee School in Hartford, VT seeks a dynamic and dedicated long-term substitute teacher for a 3rd Grade classroom from November through March 2026. We are a PreK-5 school with an enrollment of nearly 200 students and a highly collaborative culture. We believe that all students can achieve more than they imagine possible across the dimensions of skills and knowledge, character, and high-quality work, and we support all students to become their own authentic versions of effective learners and ethical people who contribute to a better world. In order to build a sense of belonging for all learners, we center the use of equity-centered, culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices. Our teachers infuse inquiry into all disciplines, build scholars' capacity for higher order thinking, prioritize student-engaged assessment, use data to inform instruction, and above all, model and foster a growth mindset. The ideal candidate will have student-centered classroom management skills, experience in implementing inclusive practices, knowledge of elementary research-based instructional and assessment practices, the ability to collaborate with colleagues, a willingness to learn, and an elementary teaching credential.
