Oct 5, 2026 Job Description The Mt. Abraham Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Long-Term Substitute Classroom Teacher to join our team at Monkton Central School for a temporary assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students in (insert) grade in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The assignment is anticipated for late October 5, 2026 through December 23, 2026.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver instruction based on lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Assess student learning and progress, and provide feedback to students and school staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the academic and social-emotional development of students.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and other school-related events as required.
The salary is $307.76 per day.
