  • Grades 4-12 (Substitute Pool) Location 3310 146th Pl SE, Bellevue, WA 98007 Company Yellow Wood Academy Pay $220 per full-day assignment; $110 per half-day assignment Job Description and Substitute Pool Overview Yellow Wood Academy is seeking qualified Substitute Teachers to join our substitute pool for the 2026-2027 school year.
Most assignments consist of half-day or full-day classroom coverage and are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Assignments may occur Monday through Friday, with opportunities for longer-term substitute assignments as needed. The ideal candidate is comfortable teaching in one-on-one and small-group settings and is flexible in responding to changing instructional needs. As a Substitute Teacher at YWA, you will support students in one-on-one and small-group classes while following the regular teacher's lesson plans. Responsibilities Provide instruction and support to students in accordance with the regular teacher's lesson plans and directions. Provide coverage for planned and unplanned teacher absences on an as-needed basis. Maintain professional, respectful, and collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, families, administrators, and staff. Provide appropriate guidance and support that promotes students' academic and social-emotional development. Follow the regular teacher's lesson plans and leave clear documentation regarding completed work, student participation, and any significant classroom concerns. Communicate promptly with school staff regarding absences, scheduling, or assignment-related concerns. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree is required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Demonstrated respect for and commitment to working with neurodiverse students and students requiring additional accommodations. Ability to adapt teaching methods, communication, and materials to meet individual student needs and promote engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing schedules, assignments, and student needs. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive student information. Experience working in a diverse, student-centered educational environment is preferred. Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook, and willingness to learn the school's student information and data-management systems. Successful completion of a background check and submission of three professional references are required.
