Job Description

Summary Wa He Lut Indian School is seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Substitute Teacher. This role is essential in providing continuity of education for our students in the absence of regular classroom teachers. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging learning environment, ensuring that students remain focused and productive while maintaining the school's educational standards. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment. Foster a respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all students. Assist students in understanding assignments and provide support as needed. Supervise students during activities and transitions to ensure safety and order. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as necessary. Maintain accurate attendance records and report any issues to school administration. Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities when available. Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to student conduct and safety. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered. Valid state teaching certification or substitute teaching permit. Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs. Patience, flexibility, and a passion for education. Background check clearance as required by state law. Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive learning environment.
